Noted by Chris Rawlins

This is one of my most anticipated mentalism products. Chris told me about this several months ago and as soon as he even mentioned the idea, I knew this would become my go to method for peeking information.

Noted is a post it note pad that contains a hidden secret. Anything a spectator writes on the pad can be peeked whenever you want. It’s not electronic, and it is reliable 100% of the time. Sometimes with these methods the peek you get is a mirror image of what they wrote, but with Noted, you see exactly what they wrote in the exact way they wrote it.

The pad is the small size (there is plenty of space to write information) which makes it super convenient to throw in your pocket and have with you at all times. Of course you can also throw it in your bag, in your “junk drawer,” on your desk, or wherever else would make sense for your performing environment. I will be keeping one in my car, one in my desk, and one in my bag so that I’m ready to go at all times. Chris provides one marker, but I’m going to buy extra markers to keep with each pad in each of those locations. Don’t worry, the markers are totally ungimmicked, but he does recommend a specific kind that he has found to give the best results.

Chris has worked hard to ensure the product works the best that it can. His work means that you don’t have to turn the pad over or cover it with your hand or anything. They write the word, recap the pen, take off their sheet, and you get your peek. It’s as easy as that. Despite the fact that the pad gives you a peek, it looks and feels exactly as it should. It can be totally examined because there’s nothing to find. Chris even uses the exact same glue that the name brand pad uses to ensure it feels perfect.

Along with the pads you get a tutorial video that is clear and very detailed at just over 50 minutes. It begins with an intro and welcome, then dives into what you get. Next up is a detailed history of how this principle was discovered and the different iterations that have been put out in the past. It’s clear Chris has done his homework and he makes sure that he credits everyone who has any work on the plot. Chris then shows you the secret of the pad and goes into many pro tips to ensure you get the best impression and performance possible. He then teaches the most deceptive way to peek, which is superb. It happens at a totally motivated moment that actually feels like you’re being even more fair. Buyers also get several routines by Chris Rawlins, Tim Trono, Michael Weber, The Jerx, and Sebastian Clergue. The video ends with thanks/credits, and an Easter Egg about what’s to come—make sure to stay for that Easter Egg. It will be exactly what many of you are hoping for.

One of the primary things you should know is that you use three sheets for each performance. This should be obvious, but when you run out of paper in the pad, you’ll need to start using another Noted pad. Eventually, refills will also be available, and Chris says they will be available indefinitely.

Thank goodness for that because I mean it when I say this will be my go to method. I think it’s the perfect peek for casual situations. It can feel awkward to pull out a business card while you’re hanging out at your house or something. Instead, dig through a drawer, pull out a pad and a marker, and you’re good to go. Or if you’re in a coffee shop, pull it out of your computer bag. I’m a theatre teacher in my day job so it’s perfectly logical for me to pull a post it note pad out of my desk. If you’re performing in more professional environments, maybe you could argue that it makes sense to use a business card, but even then, I think it makes sense that you’d bring something for them to write on other than your valuable business card.

Chris has decided to release this at three different price points. Here’s how the three price points break down:

Noted Essential Includes 2 special Noted pads, a marker pen, and the tutorial video for £35.

Noted + Includes 5 special Noted pads, a marker pen, a premium custom carry pouch, the tutorial video, and early access to refills in the future for £75.

Noted Pro Includes 8 special Noted pads, a marker pen, a premium custom carry pouch, the tutorial video, early access to refills in the future, and a “Pro-only” strategies pdf with some extra thoughts by Chris, Seb, and Weber for £99

Which one is right for you totally depends on how many pads you want and what you think the extras are worth. I don’t personally see myself using the carry pouch, so that’s not a huge perk in my eyes, but I’ve already seen some people saying they will be using that pouch at gifs to elevate the pads. I would still suggest Noted + for the extra pads and to get the pouch as an option, but at the end of the day,  that choice is totally up to you.

The official release for Noted is Blackpool 2026, but you can get yours early at the link below:
